Traditional knife EDC'ers... when choosing a firearm do you go the same route?

I was on a thread talking about some interesting stuff regarding preferences of traditionals over moderns etc...etc...

So out of curiosity do you as a gun owner who maybe swears by moderns over traditionals or vice versa feel the same way about firearms?

My brother who carries a Gerber auto carries a Glock but his cherished little baby at home is a nickel plated Springfield 1911.

I like both, but an switching my EDC to traditionals for a spell starting with a Rough Rider trapper that I had just ordered to see what the fuss is about. I don't have a CCW but own polymers. Would not have it any other way. What are your allegiances? And do you stick to the old vs new concepts at all?

I own modern and traditional knives, same with firearms.

What actually got me started looking at traditional knives was a recent purchase of a Henry .22 rifle. They go together so well.

My edc knifes are slip joints. I also carry a smith snubbie or a Glock. However my firearms taste run from ARs to flintlocks. I find myself more drawn to wooden stocked rifles however. Heck even my radios have vacuum tubes. I like old stuff.

I was a USPSA shooter when I purchased my first Gerber FSII drop point.... I shot 1911's for a lot of years, have been in search for the perfect carry pistol for my situation for over 20 years, still looking... my competition pistol is now a G34, carry a G17 in a bag, and LCP in my pocket... a Benchmade Ares in the other pocket

I like all types.

No plastic pistols for me:barf:
Wheel guns and lever actions preferred, though I do have a beretta 92 that I cherish.
I carry only traditional old timey slip joints these days, but still have a small fistful of the modern stuff in case I get the itch again.

I really enjoy the aesthetics and character that comes with traditional knives and guns.
I have recently taken an interest in traditional archery and shot a recurve bow for the first time the other day, loved it, much more satisfying than my compound for sure.
Definitely a more beautiful bow than compounds, and it's less about the gear and more a out the archer skill I think.

Yeah I like the old simple stuff.

I need to get me a lever action, specifically a Winchester 1886. I can't say why I need a .45-70, I just do. :D

Yeah, I like old fashioned. They worked then, and they still work great.

This one purchased in 1986, fired thousands of rounds since then, not a single malfunction.

Model 60 purchased 1972, also fired thousands of rounds since then, no malfunctions.

Depend on a K-frame snubby daily, made round the time I was, LOL. Usually, it's a BUG to a certain, up-and-coming plastic wunder-nine from the MidEast. :D

Is that a 1911 barrel bushing?

That would be a barrel link.
On the subject of modern/traditional. I have a certain fondness for both. I live old single actions, and lever guns, but on the other hand I love my M1A and 1911's.
Of my folders mainly modern. Fixed blades it is a mix.
It seems to me each has something to offer me.YMMV
