Traditional knives with premium steels?

Buck just announced last week that their custom shop will have a Magnacut option for the 110 folder, and the 113 & 119 fixed blades. I'm sure a 112 in Magnacut will follow soon. I ordered a 110 in Magnacut that day.:)

I like the Lionsteel Barlows in M390. They're a good example of taking an old pattern, and add a different twist using modern materials. Some like them, some don't. I have two, and they're great users.

Grayson Jennings is doing custom slipjoints at a high level in MagnaCut. The Italian makers at the behest of the guy from Collector Knives have dived fully into the modern traditional arena. Buck now offers MagnaCut in the Custom Shop.

Bucks magnacut hardening process seems to be spot on. I have several and they are nice edge retainers and easy to sharpen

Viper, Fox, and Lionsteel offer a number of models with M390 blades. Mike C collectorknives carries quite a few of them.

Here are a few other options. Case has made the 18 stockman and full size trapper with S35VN and 20CV blades. Mine is 20CV. The 2020 forum knife was made by Viper, with M390 blade. Enigma offers a nice pattern with either M390 or US2000MC (essentially cruwear) blades. Mine is US2000MC with micarta scales.

I'll second the kudos for the Italian-made Fox knives with M390. Well built and reasonably priced. The two I have are as sharp as any knife I own.
