I am looking to buy my buddy a new edc for his birthday. I am looking for a locking folder with a a more traditional look. Thinking wood or bone handles possibly some brass. A clip would be nice and something that can take a beat and keep on cutting. any suggestions besides a buck 110 for under $100?

It's not brass or bone but a benchmade bone collector lock back is fairly traditional looking and actually has a pocket clip. I can't think of any knives with bone and a pocket clip. Closets to that is the two traditional looking big folders cold steel make, buy they have faux stag handles.

Faux stag and bone is ok he is just very against modern or tactical looking in general. I think he likes that cold steel mackinak if anyone can give me a review on that. or some more similar looking knives

Cold Steel has a few offerings in Derlin bone, either thumb stud or not and a clip. This one is the Lone Star, which has the Triad lock, so it should be pretty strong.

Benchmade makes a few knives under the Lone Wolf name with wood handle overlays. You can find Case Trapperlocks with pocket clips; most have bone handles and look very traditional.
