Question for y'all,

I've always been a CRK and Hinderer guy. However, lately I've been thinking about trying a traditional folder or two. Years ago I remember seeing some quality folders (made in traditional patterns) with carbon fiber. Might have been Pena? Single-blade folders with three-inch or longer blades would probably be my preference.

In any case, I'm wondering what sort of CF traditionals might be available today? Some Googling didn't turn up much. Why carbon fiber? I just like it is all.

If you happen to have such a knife, or know of one, please post a picture and the name of the maker. I'd appreciate it.

Lionsteel makes a few "traditional" folders with carbon fiber scale options. From the ones that I have handled, they are great knives. Good fit and finish with some good steel options for the blades. The hardware gives them a more modern aesthetic, but this should match up well with the carbon fiber options.

Thanks...I'll look into them. Just read through this thread. Holy Cow! There are some beauties in there.

I collected traditional folders as a kid. The Internet wasn't "a thing" back then, so I didn't learn the proper terms for features (like end caps, jigged bone, etc.).

Now I'm thinking that I'm not so opposed to stag, mammoth ivory, and jigged bone. Lots to learn.

Some of the Jack Wolf knives offer carbon fiber covers. I haven't had a chance to handle one but they look really interesting. Modern. May be worth a glance.
