Traditional vs. Tactical EDC?

I enjoy both. How many of you carry one or more of each? I just put tactical because that seems to be the definition for most knives nowadays. I carry my Zt 0350, a razor blade, and after thanksgiving a new traditional I won from cd on here!

I like both too. I just tend to like the advancements of the folder; pocket clip, open build, etc.

I tend to carry modern folders more.
While I like both I find myself with more modern folders than anything.
I guess the reason being is because I like the pocket clip, construction, locks, materials, etc.
Plus they just look great. Depending on what you like.
I don't really used the word "tactical" though.

Both for me. Typically my small Insingo along with a Case peanut or swayback jack in my watch pocket. One that feels like a combination is my Mnandi. Feels like a slipjoint in the pocket but has a lock.

I like modern features too- pocket clip and one-hand operation. I also like a keen point. These things are features of a tactical knife but I don't think in those terms, I like the features that work for my use. I almost never carry a knife that doesn't have at least some of these features.

I only carry modern folders, I have a few tacticool knives but it's just because I like the design, my knives are tools not weapons, that's what Mr. Glock is and Mr. Smith and Wesson are for . The reason I prefer modern folders is my job, I haft to wear gloves and opening a slipjoint would be impossible in my gloves therefore all my folders haft to have thumbstuds or a hole.

There is no task in my environment, which can not be done with a traditional penknife, but I always carry a BM 710 - M390 or a Sebenza-like tactical folder with G10, N690 and liner lock together with traditional blades. The tactical for utility tasks, traditional for food.

I like a traditional folder for the utility and a "tactical" for ease of opening one handed

My knife stash is about 50/50 of modern and traditional. I'm satisfied with my ebony Sebenza since it has the best of both in one package.

I carry modern one hand opening knives and traditional. Don't care much for tactical(stuff like black blades, recurve, double edged, etc...) though.

My entire collection is modern, single bladed knives. For some reason I've never really cared for traditional designs. Not that I don't appreciate the looks and design of a well built traditional folder, I just don't care to carry one.

I have some traditional blades, but most of mine are modern folders. I typically EDC a SAK (Super Tinker) plus a locking blade (Leek, Skyline, Delica, or Mini-Grip). I've carried a few other traditionals before (Peanut, stockmans, trappers, various Sodbusters), but I keep coming back to the SAK to fill that roll. I've carried a few dozen modern folders, and after much trial and error, the four above are my main EDC rotation at the moment. That list is always subject to change as I try out new stuff.

With the exception of occasionally toting my Leatherman Wave, it's all traditional for me. SAKs, Case, Opinel, Buck, Great Eastern Cutlery. I prefer the way these knives cut vs. thick-bladed one-handers, and have never been bothered that their "deployment" takes an extra few seconds. That's why I spend most of my Bladeforums time over in the folksy, old farts' section. :D

I have carried both in the past but right now I have settled on a small Sebenza.

A modern knife but I don't know if I would call it a tactical knife.

I like using both, I like the traditionals for cooking food ( slicing sausage, cutting fruit) and modern for everything else
