Heres a little bag axe with curly maple...The head was made by forging in the ears and half of the handle socket into two seperate pieces flat of wrought iron. then forge welding both pieces together to make the body..Then a piece of W-2 was welded in for the cutting bit..Challenging way of makeing an axe but fun:D..Handle was made from nice hard curly maple board stock with a ball grip..Basically "Knife on a stick"..The whole thing is 12" long..These little axes were made for light chores and game dressing mostly..very light..less than a pound..

Thanks for the kind words..It was fun to make...You have to do something different and fun sometimes or you'll forget why we do this in the first place..
