Hi Folks,

The Morel season is about wrapped up here in Ohio so I figured I would share a few pictures of two of my favorite things together. Been a great Morel season.
If you are as crazy as me and happen to have pictures of your knives with mushrooms please post them up.
Even if it is just on the dinner plate.

I love mushroom picking although I don't do it that often. Morels aren't common around here, but therefor a whole lot of other mushroom sorts.

I only have this lousy picture from last fall, good ole peanut did all the job.

Fantastic pictures, Burnt Stag!!!
Yes, hard to beat morels cooked in a little butter.

I'm not the biggest fan of mushrooms, but I could eat morels lathered in brown sugar and honey any day of the week, haha. We have a decent supply of them up around my part of woods. I'll have to try them with butter next time.

It has been a few years since I have gone out for morels. I used to have some wooded tracts that usually gave up a few bags full, but no longer.

Morels have really good camouflage. You can be looking right at a patch without seeing them. When they do appear, the thrill is like a jolt of electricity.

A little butter, salt and pepper is all you need, but they are delicious on eggs or toast points, too.

WoW Mykel,
Great pictures. Some fine looking knives and those black morels look great. I find those in a coupe spots here but they are the hardest ones to find. I have stood right in a patch for a minute before seeing them.
Thank you for the great pictures.

Black Mamba,
My wife likes those button mushrooms too.
Sometimes we just fry in butter with some hot spices.
Then we will do up a beer batter a lot of times with assorted hot spice and garlic powder.
I like to use a very dark beer for the batter. Guiness or some of the local micro-brews.
Here is a picture of some beer batter morels just out of the pan.

And I didn't take a pic with a knife of this one, but it's too good not to share here.
