Traditionals and siblings

Yesterday was Siblings Day in the US (recognized in 39 states, but not federally yet). I took some photos of my almost three years old twins. I thought I would share two of them: one of them holding the traditional pocket knives they will receive when they are older, and a bonus shot of the knives themselves - a GEC 25 short run in Jobillo wood, and a 22 in burnt stag. (I had originally set aside a 22 and 33 in ebony for them, but recently changed my mind).

I'm the only one if my family that likes/carries pocket knives, and of my meager collection of five, four are traditional. Buoyed by the success of getting my wife and dad to see the utility in carrying a Victorinox Classic and Ambassador, respectively, I think I will get my two sisters a Vic Classic each in their favorite color for their birthdays this year. At least I can say I tried.

Does anyone have a sibling who also already carries/uses/collects traditionals? Has anyone else attempted to convert a sibling?

Very cool. My coming of age and being allowed the responsibility of carrying a pocket knife was a big deal to me as a boy. It's good to see fathers carrying on this old tradition.

Unfortunately I'm the only one in my family that always carries a knife that I know of. Scratch that, my dad usually has a vic classic in his pocket.
I did however give my cousin (who is 18 and to my knowledge has never carried a knife) a Case sodbuster jr. that I had won on here around thanksgiving. A couple months later at our Christmas get together my aunt was asking for a knife and I saw him pull it out. It made me smile. I wasn't sure if he would actually carry it when I gave it to him, so it was a pretty good feeling to see that he still had it.
Trevytrev, I just want to thank you again for your very generous gaw and unknowingly providing my cousin with his first knife.
Which reminds me, I still need to pick up a full size sodbuster.

I've gifted many knives over the years to my sons. They're 29 and 32 now. They both seem to appreciate, carry and use them. I don't think either of them has added to their collections (accumulations). I guess they don't have to. They just wait for me to add to them. One day they they'll get a big addition, unless there's a decision to liquidate for some reason. I hope not too soon though. :D

One of my most prized possessions is a 92 Eureka Jack my older brother gave me about a year ago. Every time I pull it out it makes me think of all the things we did together growing up! (I am 40 and he is 45)
