Looking in the maker section, gonna be a good show with a few traditionals to be had. Anyone else in here going? Ill try to take some pics if I can

Well heck if I'd have known about it... I'm only about 3 hours away. Got other plans this weekend, though.

Will do SHS

Its a great show. Made it two years ago and got my feet wet. Gonna be a blast tomorrow. Wish we had a bladeforum bandana or hat, something we could identify our own :)

I saw Peregrin in here, maybe he or Knarfeng could comment. Any chance of promoting a few shows in here? One is coming up in MD with a mainly slipjoint/old timey presence.

As long as the posts are of traditional knives I see no problem. I bet you'll find a thread or threads on this show in the Custom forum too.

Good stuff Gary

I have read the makers threads on here. Some great slippies are going to be at the show as well as many traditional fixed blades. Just interested to see if any fellow members would be down in these parts to enjoy the show? I will report back with my traditional finds tomorrow afternoon :D

John Lloyd is going to be a there with some slip joints, mammoth, ivory & stag.

Hopefully I am aloud to take pics.

VCM, I plan on going by Mr. Lloyds table to get my hands on some of his highly recomended knives

Just got home from the show. If you are anywhere within driving distance I highly recomend it. So many slipjoints and great people. Ill have some pics in a little while. I did not buy anything but that doesnt mean I was not tempted by more then a few :D

Do to technical difficulty It may be till monday or tuesday before I can get the pics up.

After parking in the garage I spent some time with two couples also trying to find the knife show. I simply asked the front desk while walking by in the hotel and got us all pointed in the right direction. One of the gentlemen asked if I had a ticket, when I told him no he produced a free pass to get in. I was humbled and very thankfull for his generosity. Knife folks in general are just great folks .

After making my way in to the very crowded convention center I started to browse the tables and their fantastic contents. First gentleman I had the pleasure to meet with some slippies on his table was Roger Massey. Great guy with some amazingly crafted knives. Also met Mr. Tim Britton who let me snap two pics . He had a very nice unique little mop easy open wharnie, it was absolutly perfect. Also had a killer stag trapper that felt great.

Had a chance to visit with Don Hanson III, great guy with some stunning knives. I took a liking to a single blade wharnie with carbon fiber scales. So smooth with perfect action :D.

Spent a bit of time talking with Craig Brewer who is out of Texas. He had some amazing knives on display and let me snap a few pics. One was a great little stockman with mamoth ivory covers :D and a sweet little single blade with orange covers. I was/am still tempted by that little orange guy.

Talked with a few other fixed blade makers in the non traditional arena. Had a fantastic time and would say that atleast 20 makers had atleast one slip joint on the table. Highly recomend the show to anyone within driving distance. Met some makers that traveled from Florida, Illinois, and any surrounding state, great group of people.
