I'm looking to purchase a traditional knife not really knowing much about them I was looking for recommendations, any brand, trying to keep it under $200 and it has to lock no slipjoints, premium steels, 3-1/2 in. to 2 inch blade. One with multple blades would be a bonus, any handle material.

Any Suggestions

As I posted in the General Knife Discussion forum I don't see why it would but I can tell I will get better feedback in the Traditionals forum so I will post it there to. Thank you for your help God only knows what would of happened if you hadn't posted to my thread....

No worries. I wasn't picking on you, just anticipating the inevitable. But please don't double post. Mods will move it if they deem it necessary.

Check out the GEC 72 and 73 patterns. You should be able to get 2 or 3 easy for $200. The fit & finish is great, and the steel takes a crazy sharp razor edge. Great Eastern is my favorite traditional knife manufacturer by far. Also check out the Farm & Field knife by GEC - its a nice slim easy to carry lock back.

Other than that, a custom may be more what your after, but probably closer to $400. Good luck!

I would consider the Buck custom shop 110 or 500 series lock backs. They will be single bladed, and have stainless steel blades.

The Traditional forum is exactly that, nothing but true traditional knives. No thumb studs, pocket clips, or any other modern devices. You will get a better response in there. No need to get chapped.
