While hiking today, the belt loop on my Swisstool Spirit's case broke and it fell off. Luckily, someone else in the group I was with noticed it lying on the ground and picked it up. However, I'm now in the market for a sturdier sheath for the thing. Any suggestions?

I have one of these from JRE and have worn it every day since I received it.

Love it.

Plus, it's got two retention methods so I can use it in sweat pants or shorts if I'm not wearing a belt.

Close call! Glad you didn't lose it! I'm not sure if this accounts for any problems in quality of manufacturing but atleast some of the Victorinox sheaths are made in Mexico - usually companies don't outsource to foreign manufacturers unless it's cheaper.

I usually just use whatever sheaths I have lying around - for example the SwissTool Spirit will also fit the leather sheath for the original Leatherman Wave, etc.

I noticed on my Spirit's sheath that the leather belt loop got stretched when I wore it a lot in the summer and sweat soaked it.

I just tried mine: this large PCC case from County Comm fits the Spirit nicely and with the double loops is highly unlikely to fall off. http://countycomm.com/PCC.htm

Wow, that is some paracord weaving!
Never seen anything like it

I use Leatherman Wave sheaths for my 2 Spirits. I have 1 leather and 1 nylon.

If you are in a hard use environment, you may want to take a look at some of the Maxpedition sheaths.
