Polish President Lech Kaczynski died today in a plane crash. He was one of the 96 passangers. Along with him died almost entire command of Polish army. Many well known members of parlament. Many,many good people.
The plane crashed very near the place they were going to - russian village called Katyn. In Katyn in 1940 the soviets murdered more than 20 thousands of polish officers. The President was flying there for memorial ceremony.
Katyn is truly a cursed place for the Poles.

Please say a prayer or send smoke for those who died there today and 70 years ago.

My heart goes out to you and all Poles everywhere. This is indeed another tragic day. I hope there is nothing more to it than an accident - It may be more than terrable irony.

Regardless of our present controllers in Washington - let it be said that we Americans do stand with Poland. Always.

My deepest simpathy to the Polish people. Poland has been the birthplace of some truly outstanding men and women: Marie Curie, Lech Walesa, Franz Lizt, Pope John Paull II. just to name a few; persons who represent all that can be good in humans.

So sorry to hear this bad news. I hope the country can overcome such a great loss.
 
Among those who died there were also the head of the National Security Office, the national bank president, the deputy foreign minister, the deputy parliament speaker, the civil rights commissioner. Great, great loss.

I hope you guys don't mind me posting it here on Busse Combat forums but I consider you as friends and with friends one should share not only good moments but also the sad ones.

A horrible loss to a champion of freedom seeking hold it's independence from Russia.

I smell a rat... and his name is Putin. But have no fear, Putin says he is going to personally run the investigation into the crash. :rolleyes: Very sad.

Got a few Polish friends here, my thoughts are with them and their countrymen at this time.
 
I'm so very sorry to hear about this tragedy. Smoke rising for the families of the 97 lost, and for every citizen of Poland. My heart goes out to you all.
Truly a very sad day, indeed... :(
 
I just saw this on the news. A terrible tragedy.
My thoughts are with the families of the lost and the Polish people.

My wife pointed this out on the news just a few minutes ago How tragic. Prayers outbound.
 
Smoke and prayers up for all of the victims and their families, as well as all Poles everywhere.
