Going to strap a trail cam and catch a few of those deer I spooked sunday. Might plan a huntin we will go next deer season :)

Any advice at all on locations?

Maybe start with where you scared some this year?

I tend to look for areas where several deer runs all cross in nearly the same place. Also good are trails leading from bedding areas to feeding areas.

Also I don't know if you're on any acreage or what baiting rules are in your state, but we tend to put out a big round bale hay "Archery Target" in the winter on my grandparents farm to help the deer out a little. A trail cam by that would likely get alot of activity.

I'm not sure how much their behavior in the winter varies from when you would be hunting them next year, up north their movement and even where they can be found is dramatically different from early november to right now. By this time they've all started yarding up for the winter. However with the milder winters you see I suppose that this isn't the case in NC.

Do be careful with where you mount it. Trail cams have a bad tendency to walk off down here. Try to be discreet.

There still digging and scraping here. I think there very solidly living in the back 15 to 20 acre area I have access to my grandmother ownes. It will be a fun small project for me.

Ill go to the main scraping area's I found that looked like safe havens sort of.

I'm used to hunting on private property or commercial forest land that can only be easily accessed from our (or other cousins) property, so I didn't even really think of that.

The shower seems to be a good place me thinks. You did say IN the house you know.;)

Just don't do what a buddy of mine did on my property. He mounted it right near the road. Every time I got down the mountain he has a picture of me doing something stupid to the camera :)

I thought by the title of the thread that you were going to try and catch someone sneaking snacks from the fridge.

:D
