Trail hawk Price jump?

This summer I bought a trail hawk for $22 from a large online store that offers free 2 day shipping. Went back today to get one for another project and the price has increased to $37! I know other places have them cheaper, but that is ridiculous. How does that even happen.lol
 
Impressive! Maybe you got a real deal on the first one.

Just an aside. I follow a hawk maker that sells on the bay. A few months ago he raised his minimum starting bid for anything he makes from $100 to $150. He did not say that was that he was doing it; it is just obvious from seeing the pricing. Maybe there is a run on hawks.
 
Free enterprise operates on the principle of 'supply and demand'. When demand exceeds supply capitalists either make more of something or raise the price. Which way would you go if you were in charge?
 
I understand the concept of supply and demand, but the reason so many people would buy the trail hawk to mod and play with was because of the affordable price. I would be shocked if people are still grabbing them up for almost double the price of a few months ago. We are not dealing with the hot toy at Christmas. I think this is a strange company thing for the big store selling them. I understand price goes up with demand, but its rare in things like this to almost double that have been on the market for a long time. Seems strange to me.
 
Hmmmm. I do not look at Cold Steel pricing trends. Have they elevated prices on their other products to this degree?

This made me laugh. May be...true? But did they really sue anyone in the end, or just bluffed? Not that bullying, even "legal" bullying, is fine...
