I am headed out for a long weekend in about a month and want to bring along my newly mod-ed trail hawk. Is there anyone out there that can make me a leather sheath? If you have a trail hawk and can make a leather sheath for it, please let me know. It does not have to be anything fancy. In fact, I would rather it be more utilitarian. Thanks

Guys, I'm in the process of designing one for my trailhawk now. When I finally get one made I will post some pics.

It costs about $2 worth of leather, a needle and some good thread to make a utilitarian blade cover for a hawk. Very simple to do, anyone can make a highly functional one on their first try in less than an afternoon. Lots of tutorials exist on the web.

I made a belt rig out of plastic for Mr. Thompson a few years ago for the Trail hawk. He took it to Africa, and enjoyed it. Any need for synthetic?

Robert, any pics of that? I need to get a cover for my trailhawk too, and always like your work.

Not sure what type of sheath you are looking for... Mine is an edge protector that uses a piece of leather lace to tie it onto the hawk. The bottom has a brass rivet the hooks under the bottom of the blade and the rest slides on. The two halves are stitched with a spacer for the edge to contact. The lace is at the top. Imagine a narrow "D". My rucksack has a place where I slide the handle for carry. I didn't want the edge unprotected.

I recently made a kydex "bikini" sheath for a buddy's H&B custom spiked hawk that I got him. I'm waiting on more rivets though.

Imitaiton is the sincerest form of flattery right Robert? :)

Absolutely! I don't discourage anyone from making their own sheath. I simply do it cheaper. :D
