I'm thinking of getting a hawk for my birthday (or just getting my wife one for her birthday since hers comes first :p ) and after looking around here for a while it seems like most of the focus is on the trail hawk. I guess my question is, is having the hammer end worth having the smaller blade length? How much do you guys use that feature, and is the smaller blade length even really a factor? Thoughts? Thanks

Less cutting edge isn't necessarily a downer. It means more force is concentrated on that area, so, theoretically, you can make deeper cuts. Smaller, yes, but deeper.

Get Both!

Seriously, your going to end up buying like 10 of these things. Might as well come out swinging!

the poll arguably allows the Trail Hawk to track better than the Frontier Hawk.

....my experience agrees with that.

they are both outstanding IMHO.

get one of each.

I agree that both are awesome.I have carried both and love using both. Why choose when all the choices are great.lol

I'd have to agree with everybody, once you buy 1 you'll want another and another and another, until all of a sudden the little woman put's her thumb on ya

OK, I'll be the different one here...
I like the Frontier Hawk better... get it instead!!!
I think it is the best choice for THROWING, and general all-around use...
