my arkansas family are horse folks(quarter horses). and every year they put on a trail ride to raise money for st judes childrens hospital. didnt get to ride this yr as my aunt needed my help getting things set up for the lunch stop. which was cool. i can ride anytime. and her being 78 now shes just beginning to slow down a bit...we raised over $8000 this yr. pretty good for a bunch of ole cowpokes n their youngens.
these two fellas did all the grilling. fresh beef burgers off my familys land. theyve been raising horses and beef since before the civil war on the same land(the original two brothers settled there in 1850).

these two old cowpokes were patiently waiting for the burgers..

knife content-these folks all carry knives everyday(sorry never got any knife shots this entire trip....). its simply all in a days work to need a knife.
survival content-these folks all know how to handle themselves in the woods. most have lived in very rural areas all their days. and most wouldnt even consider going to the dr. they take care of things themselves even so far as setting bones and stitching each other up. the older ones are familiar with every plant and animal that grows and lives on their land. and what it can be used for, edible etc. morels are common, watercress, and all sorts of other edibles and medicinals.
