OK, it's cool looking and all that, with a very interesting handle.

But what role do you see it playing? That upswept tip would make it not so good for field dressing, right? (I'm new at this stuff) Skinning, yes; but do you need a special blade for that?

Does anyone else look at it and think: "hmmm, if I grind that down to a drop point, it would work better for me" ?

I don't find a sharp point to be a hindrance while field dressing. I just place the end of my index finger lightly on the spine near the tip, so the point is not in any danger of puncturing anything I don't want it to while dressing. Everyone has their preferences though.

I think if the tip were ground to a spear point you'd lose an appreciable amount of blade that would make it more practical to find a Culti on the exchange instead.

The upswept tip is what caught my eye. I have other hunting blades in this pattern--for example, the Swamp Rat Safari Skinner and the Spyderco Bill Moran Upswept and the Ka-Bar Becker BK15. All good blade for field dressing or skinning.

I have skinned Hogs, Beef, and all kinds of other game.
That blade shape will work awesome.

I much prefer drop points like my BAD and Hog Muck. I like using a very sharp point like the BAD, used on removing this elk tenderloin. But will be giving the SR-101 Scalpel a try.

I got in on the early order custom shop. Anyone making sheaths for it yet? Id like to get a jump on that.

Thanks

Nice bull!
I think much like a sharp finger,, it will be a great little skinner, able to get into tight spaces..
It's size will make a nice "walk in the woods" blade too

None of them have shipped yet and since the ASH2 I ordered in November just got here today, I would say it will be a few weeks yet.
With that said I did order one :)
