Trailmaster 3V Tip

I was in the garage cutting up boxes and was pleasantly surprised when the mail lady pulled up with my brand new Trailmaster 3V. I was originally concerned that it would have uneven grind lines - which this one doesn’t have - but what really surprised me was how how fine a point they’re putting on these knives. I can’t see how this tip would hold up under real hard use unless I’m exceedingly careful with it. It’s actually finer than the point on my ZT 0551 which I just happened to have in my pocket when the mail lady walked up the driveway to hand me the package. I guess we’ll see…

The Cold Steel 3V steel , made in Taiwan knives I have , all have been very tough .

Have 2 3V Master Hunters and one 3V Pendleton Mini-Hunter .

If you do happen to break off the tip , in any reasonable use , I'd like to hear about it .

I do have older TM 's , but not in 3V . They not fragile ! ;)

Glad to hear no one’s had any real issues. I’m not really displeased I guess but I was surprised. I just did not expect it to be that fine. It actually does have its advantages. And I always have an axe and hatchet so I really don’t need to be doing a whole lot of batoning. I do like the knife. I’m sure it’ll be fine.

The SK5 SRK I received a few years back was exactly the same. You could've done surgery with that thing. Due to the low cost, I tried to see if it would break during mild abuse, like stabbing wood and snapping the knife sideways. It eventually broke off the very tip, but only like a mm, so the SRK is still great for everything except digging for splinters in your finger.
