I bought a Trail-Master in the 90s, and I have yet to see one like it (atleast in Norway).
It is a carbon Blade, not San Mai.
It has a full convex to zero grind and stainless Steel guard.
All the other I've seen have a secondary Bevel and brass Guard.
Anyone with vast knowledge on cold Steel history able to help me with info on this Blade?
My searches on Google has rendered me without any answers...

Sounds like the regular (non-San Mai) stainless version that was offered for a few years...model #16JS. Was AUS 6A.

Thanks nephron. Bobber, check out the 1998 thru 2001 catalogs. There was also an earlier regular stainless model, sometime between the 1988 and 93/94 catalogs.

Thanks nephron and jlauffer, that's it, aus 8a is mine, I bought it in the end of the 90s, and the Knife looks exactly the same to this Day, so it would make sene that it's actually stainless.

I believe its actually AUS 6A. The 98 and 99 catalogs say AUS 8A in one spot, and AUS 6A in another, while the 2000 and 2001 catalogs consistently say AUS 6A. So I think the AUS 8A was a typo. Either way it's a hell of a knife. I have one from the earlier batch from the late 80's/very early 90's...back then it was "400 Series Stainless".

Thanks jlauffer, I sent a mail to cold Steel too, but have'nt heard back from them at all...
