I would love to see your modifications to your trail masters. Havent done any to mine yet....., so your comments and ideas would be helpful.

Hey delta, I have an mtech extreme bowie two thats a trailmaster knockoff in 440 that i sanded the coating off of to make it look like the uncoated trailmasters. i reprofiled it very thin for a defensive rather than sturdy edge. i think the blade of the trailmaster can only be altered in few ways and still look nice (blueing, sharpening the false edge) and the gaurd and handle may leave some room for customizeable. But otherwise the trailmaster is in my opinion otherwise close to perfect. :)

I also have an MTech bowie, and modified it as shown below. I have left the edge thick, and it works great as a chopper. Have been thinking about convexing the edge, so would like to hear how yours performs. I havent done any mods to my Trailmaster as yet. Still thinkin about it tho.

I findthe MTech to be a serviceable and inexpensive tool. Suits my needs for many chores and if I lose it a replacement fits my budget better than if I had lost my Cold Steel Trailmaster. So tho I love my Cold Steel, I wont take it to places, or leave it in places, that I do with my MTech. Seems to me that is what the marketplace is all about...quality, price point, and choice.

This is the way of things, to copy what is thought by some to be perfection (i.e GLOCK), since the ability to create an *original* said product of high quality is most assuredly lacking!

That being said, I should give the Mtech a try, but thats $20 bux closer to an 01 TrailMaster....
