Guys need some help here,my buddy is getting one for a survival knife but he wants to know if he should get the 2nd because there is a black coating,but no warranty for 129$ from coldsteel or he can get the original for the same price,please help.Yours in blades,RYAN
 
i have one of the firsts and the seconds, if you can get a first for the same price as a second run, why take the second. as far as survival knives, i like the becker brute which is under 100.00 and the handles are better, it will split, chop, and slice with the best of them. just my thoughts on the topic.

I would have to agree with alco. Go for a BK&T. I just got my combat/util 7 and it is now my favourite. Light and the most comfortable handle I have ever had the pleasure of handling.

I love my trailmaster, but it just got replaced! :D
