Made this Kydex Trainer for a guy here in town after he bought a MFS, wants to do some training but at the same time be "nice" to his team mates.
Take care. Dean

Very cool Dean,
I like the backdrop.

But....as we all know kydex makes a substandard trainer because when your as fast as i am....it melts...

That's way cool. We are doing the same for my FMA class, but with lightweight aluminum, on a auto lathe...

very nice design!

Cool work Dean! Your kydex work looks very "clean" and... well.. streamlined. More pics of your work, please!

I prefer aluminium or metal. I like yours though. I have a variety of trainers. I would catch hell if I posted some of mine:eek:

Thanks for the votes of confidence, Mick I am trying to come up with a more heat resistant/areodynamic/teflon coated/less likely to melt in Micks faster than sound hands:rolleyes:
Have even approached NASA on this...nothing. Might have to visit
Area-51!
Dashunde2, negitive on it weighing much.
I like aluminum also although it can hit kind of hard, it does keep you honest.
I have not tried wood or aluminum as I am set up for Kydex, a guy brings me his knife, I put a few sections of Kydex together, trace his knife out, cut-grind and sand and put the handle on and he has a trainer that looks and feels like the knife he carries just dosen't weigh as much.
Anyway, guys thanks for the kind words, when I make another I'll take another pic.
Take care. Dean
Mick take care and I'll be in touch. Later. Dean

Cool idea. Just out of curiousity, how do you guys train? Do you wear protective gear of some sort? Do you do some sort of drills?

I'm a firm believer in training like you are in a real fight, whether it be empty hand, knife, or firearm. Anything less is just make believe and gives you a false sense of security in my opinion. Unfortunately it's hard to find people who want to train this way.
