Hi all,

I've just started training in FMA, and I'm going to need a good training knife or two. I've got a decent rubber one, but the next thing I'm interested in picking up is a small, light, metal trainer. Anybody have any recommendations for affordable ones?

Thanks

You're going to want to go to the training section and head to either the FMA forum or Practical Tactical forum and re-ask this.

For myself, having trained with wood, rubber, and steel trainers, I feel my real education began when I started training with stiff padded trainers, that let my partners and I hit with hard power that would provide good negative feedback but not break bones or cause deep bruises. Just something to think about! Anyway, re-ask in the FMA forum and you'll get loads of good recommendations for metal trainers.

You also need to make sure that whatever you bring complies with the protocols of whoever's doing the training (and what they're doing in that particular program). I know that's obvious, but there's room for reasonable people to have different points of view, and you will see that in action if you train with multiple trainers.
