Here are some unedited shots from a hike I did with Son O' to get him ready for his big camping trip in Maine. He's been training with a fully weighted backpack and so have I. He'll be sea kayaking down east and backpacking Baxter State Park, with an ascent of Katahdin.
I took off work Tuesday before the heat wave hit and we did approx. 7 tough miles in about 6 hrs. of hiking in Harriman.
Town of Tuxedo NY:
Black Ash Swamp:
Scared this wild turkey and her two chicks out of the brush:
Hitting the steeps:
Yours truly:
We hiked down to this lake and had an awesome swim:
I'll be coming back here to camp soon!!!
Below these rocks.............. ..
................... ...was this "super shelter." You could probably fit 10 people in there easy.
Thanks for looking,
Bean
