Hello,
My name is Aaron Little and I am a martial arts instructor. I have recently developed an interest in learning how to make metal training knives for myself and my students. My problem is that I have no idea where to begin. Any information on making training knives would be greatly appreciated. Books to read, tools required, materials to use, where/how to learn (this is probably the most important), etc….

Thanks for any help you can provided.

Aaron K Little

P.S. I was not sure where to post this question, so you may see it in a few different places.

Aaron..

For those us not involved in martial arts, can you give us a more detailed description of a "training" knife?
I'm assuming that all you require is a dull, blunt knife shaped metal object?
If so all you really need are hacksaws, files, a circular grinder (grinding wheel), benchvise, drill and various grits of sandpaper. You can easily get mild steel barstock at any hardware store as your material.
