I'm new to the board and have been a FMA fan for a long time. My current schedule doesn't allow me to attend a traditional school so I'm looking for an alternative for now. Can anyone out there recommend decent training tapes for FMA. I'm looking for katas, single and double stick, empty hand, and knife traing. Also any suggestions, links, or traning equipment recommendations for solo training will be helpful. Thanks in advance for any help.

Welcome to the forums! There are a lot of good FMA Tapes out there to pick from. Some that immediately spring to mind are Prof. Premas, Kelly Worden (I think he has tapes out), James Keating, Hock Hochheim, etc.

Personally, I like the videos from Kelly Worden ( www.kellyworden.com ) best, Keating´s tapes ( www.comtech.com )are very good as well, and of course Bram Franks´s ( www.paladin-press.com or the CSSD/SC site, don´t know the URL). James Keating teches a blend of knife arts, with heavy FMA influence, Kelly Worden as well. They have their own style, not exactly pure-breed FMA, but very reality-based.

Training Equipment:

A car tire tied or bolted to something solid for stick strikes. It builds up striking power and grip strength. Go slow at first and keep your live hand(the one without the stick) up. Sometimes the stick can come back at you when you first start hitting the tires. 28" X 1" rattan sticks are the average size. If you have large hands get 1 1/8" or 1 1/4" diameter sticks.
