 I know there are 2 makers of the Trakker knife, one is Topps, does anybody know the other one? I coudl have sworn to seeing it advertised in Blade magazine for like $80.00. Any info provided is greatly appreicated. :)

They're easier to find of you spell them right: TOPS Tracker. This is the only production version of the Tom Brown design. Spectre Products has some similar production designs, though.

However, there have been custom versions as well. In fact, in the film, The Hunted, the "Tracker" used was a Dave Beck W(ilderness)S(urvival)K(nife). Mr. Beck may have stopped making knives recently. There are other custom makers with similar models. All of these are quite expensive.

There is a knife called the Paratraxx. This is probably the inexpensive version you read about. Don't go there. :barf:

I think he wants the CHEAP knife. Doesn't, heck, I don't know, maybe Linton make one that's really cheap.
Don't buy it, It's junky.
.
And another reason: You can BET that they didn't pay the proper royalties to use that design. Do the right thing.

The knife is not for me, it is for a guy at work. He wants the look without the expense. Hell his carry piece is a M-Tech. So I figure, let him buy the CRAP and the longer he hangs with me sooner or later he will buy a Benchmade! :D

He probably is looking for the Paratraxx, a knock-off of not only the Tracker but of the Rob Simonich Parasite concept as well, so it is a double knock-off. It is a cheap quality knife made of 420j2 for $60.00 (regularly $75.00) . For the price you could get a Becker and a Victorniox SAK. If you want a useful knife don't get it. If you want a junky knife one from Pakistan will be just as bad but much cheaper. :D
