Tramontina kitchen knives?

Hi,
I got one of them as a gift (8'' chef`s knife) a couple of years ago and it has served me quite well since.
I have to sharpen it quite often though.
I wonder what kind of steel do they use for making their blades?
 
Some sort of stainless steel. Probably either a "mystery" in-house steel or the least expensive 420.

Maybe someone else will post will the real answer...

The block set that my parents have just says "stain free high carbon" on the blades. If I had to venture a guess, I would say 420. Pretty good knives, though.
 
Thank you for your information. I`ve made some research, but I didn`t find anything new.
