Hi, I'm new to the forums and new to collecting knives and was hoping someone can help me. I collected knives when i was 12-14 and mostly got knives because they looked cool but now I am getting into collecting and a serious hobby and prefer most of my knives to be good quality. There is one knife I have that I can't find any info on.

The knife is the Tramontina Mountain Man.

I can't post pics because I am not a paid member.

The only info I found was on a website in South Africa. http://blades-n-fantasies.co.za/Blades_ProductDetail.asp?ID=11506

If anyone can help me find anything about the blade, company, quality, and materials I would greatly appreciate it.

Thank you for any help you can supply.

P.S. I just wanted to point out I am not asking about the value. I just need some info on the knife.

welcome to bladeforums
Sorry i cant shed more light on this for ya, but when i was the same age i purchased a tramontina bowie knife (mine had a plastic handle)carbon steel takes a good edge, used quite a bit! i rehandled it a few years back
yours looks to appeal to maybe first time collectors? not sure of the quality but my mid 80's tramontina is a decent chunk of steel

Thanks for the info so far. I did alittle research on the company and learned that it is a company in brazil and supposedly they make good quality but cheap machetes that can last for years. I need some confirmation on this because this was just from some guy in some forum posted a couple years ago.

Also thanks for posting the picture.
