I stopped by the local Goodwill on the way home, poking around for some pocket knives. My father told me about an auction that included a boy scout knife. I saw a JA Henckels that was part of a set of crappy blades with no stamp whatsoever. I then came across a set of Tramontina kitchen knives, missing two knives, both paring knives. They were in a nice butcher block, and only cost 6 bucks. They are marked stain free carbon steel, so I am guessing they are high carbon stainless. After washing them and runnning them on a ceramic rod, they are great slicers. Cut up some BBQ chicken for a salad, sliced some Vidalia onion for a hamburger. They haven't been put through their paces, but a good steal for 6 bucks.
