Recently R.c.s hosted a generous GAW http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/s...-A-piece-of-Sheffield-GAW-we-have-two-winners. I was fortunate enough to be one of the winners, and I want to express my appreciation to R.c.s and share my good fortune with others on The Porch.

R.c.s PMed me last week Thursday that he had put the knife I won into the mail that day, and it should arrive in about 8 working days. So I was pleasantly surprised on the very next Monday to find a package from Manchester UK in my mailbox! The trip across the Atlantic was faster than most of the package shipments within the US. Here are some photos of the contents of the package.

My "prize" was a stag senator pattern from A Wright & Son in Sheffield!:cool:
I'm not an experienced stag owner, so it was a special treat to acquire my 3rd stag-handled knife. It's also my first knife with the fabled lambsfoot blade (which superbly reflects my fingers when photographed), and I think my first knife from Sheffield.

I really like the thickness of the stag covers, and the filework on the backspring is very appealing to me.

R.c.s also included a cool Sheffield key fob that's now on my fistful of keys and a nice "souvenir" box with a foam cutout that contained the knife.

Thanks very much for your generosity, Rick!! I'd enjoy seeing other A Wright & Son knives, if anyone is willing to post photos of theirs.

Very nice Gary. I received my British Army Knife as well. I've got to get some pics to add later today.

Nice pictures GT, a very worthwhlie and unusual knife, you're putting together a fine international collection too.

Generous GAW R.c.s. we're all envying GT quite a bit!:D

Thanks, Will

Thanks for the well-wishes, Ron, Gev, Mike, Bob, and Will. :)
Thanks for some pics of more Wrights, Rick; I appreciate seeing those beauties!
Bob, I look forward to seeing some photos of the British Army knife sometime; to me that was a very unusual, unique, and unfamiliar knife about which I'd like to learn more.
Will, when I first started picking up some knives, I didn't have much focus, but one "area of emphasis/interest" that seems to have somehow developed is what you noted: I really enjoy getting knives from different countries, probably due primarily to visiting my daughter in Spain. So I was thrilled to win this classic British knife! (I should "pick your brain" sometime about Scandinavian folders, if there is such a thing. I like the looks of puukkos, but I vowed not to involve myself in fixed blades.)
