I purchased this sickle for $5 at an antique show and was wondering if anybody out there could tell me what the symbols mean. It looks like they are identical, and I'm pretty sure they say "Hattori Hanzo":D

Thanks all.

Both are "早" in circle. that means "early, fast".
It is used about time, not about speed.
Also it is used in a part of second name.
Maybe it is from maker's name or appeal of "fast cutting".

Hattori Hanzo is "服部半蔵" in kanji, it doesn't contain "早".

Thank you for the information- I was kidding about the Hanzo part, but forgot the smilie;):p, I was just trying to be funny. So I can get through the grasses with this quickly and go back to having a beer after!!
