Translucent Arkansas Stone

Just wanna to ask how many grit can a Translucent Arkansas Stone be ??
A friend of mine told me that it should be around 6000 grit
But did anyone have the exact ans. ?
 
Iron, Yes not just a Translucent stone can have many grits and they all be right. You need to read about grit standards: ANSI= American Standard, FEPA =European Standard, JIS= Japanese Standard, to name just a few. On this forum grit numbers are thrown out often but rarely with the standard of reference. Thus leading to confusion. Also, note worthy is grits have different standards and are arrived at differently, ie. macrogrits are arrived at by use of a sieve and microgrits are arrived at by sedimentation. Which can create a spaggetti bowl. So, we should when stating grits reference the standard. I've seen sites state Translucent at 10 micron which translates to 900-1000g ANSI. DM
