western trap,stag--slim trap,crushed seashell acrylic--western trap,sunset yellow bone--& 73 trap [scout] ,stag.
the 73 was one of gecs 1st models from 2006 & the most sturdy of the quartet. the seashell was the next trapper from 2010 & the western traps are either 2010 or 2011 [ confusing as listed in gec site.]notice the western trap has different pattern blades from both the 73 trap & the slim trap.this modified spey blade in the western is a 1st for me but i bow to the more experienced collectors as to this spey shape. Great Scott!!! Those are sweet. I particularly like the one on the left (stag) and the 3rd from the left (yellow??). I've got to keep an eye out for them.

That modified spey shape is basically the old 4-line trapper spey (old Camillus pattern) -- search for one of the Bose 4-line trappers and you'll see it.

Here's an example: Bose 4-line trapper -- Tony patterned it on a Camillus pattern from before 1920.

zerogee, Thanks for that link. That knife is amazing. PM me and let me know what part of Arkansas you are in.

Dennis, are the scales on the third one from the right what they call "goldenrod"? It's sure pretty.

Ed

zerogee thanks for alerting us to that pattern. you sure know your knives, love that ivory ---nothing quite like ie. tlarbb that's a new bone [i think] in the gec lineup .goldenrod is different not as much yellow. i have a congress in goldenrod that i may get a pic of later.

Dennis,
nice line up

The new trappers are like a regular trapper or a slimline trapper?

tlarbb was wondering about these 2 yellow bones. the jigging is different & the sunset is more yellow. the congress in discontinued due to problems with the unusal blade type. the 23 is for size comparison.

as a follow up i thought i should mention these blades in the western trapper are new patterns to gec as far as i can tell. the clip is not the same as the clip in slim trapper. i do believe the frame on the western & the slim are the same

Dennis,

Do you have a shot of the Western on it's side next to a slimline trapper? I am wondering thick it is and whether it would be easy to carry. I normally like single-blade trappers but I do like the semi-skinner instead of the traditional spey blade.

Thanks,
David
