I headed out to meet forum member ST today for another hike, on the way I came across this poor critter and figured I'd move him off the road as he waited for the scavengers to move in !
I met up with ST and we headed out along the trail, what a perfect Fall day !
I decided to show ST the Kochanski deadfall trap that I'd been practicing this week, larger traps such as this are so much easier to set up when you have another pair of hands !
Here is ST at the front of the trap.
I shot this quick video showing it being tripped, we did it from the back as it shows how it works a little better than from the front. If we had made it for real we would have used a longer vertical stick so the trigger would have been closer to the floor. We would aslo have boxed in around the back forcing the animal to access the trap from the front.
