Not sure if this belongs in Gadgets & Gear or here in Community, so bare with me...

I'm shooting clays with a few buddies tommorow. Never did this before. I have a side X side shotgun with a single trigger, but I can select which barrel fires first. I have in my inventory three choke tubes... full, modified and improved. I know nothing about shotguns. So what choke goes where and what barrel should fire first?

Like I mentioned, never did this before. Don't know nothing about shotguns.

If you're just going out to blast some clays, go with improved. It'll get more lead out over a larger area so you'll bust more. If you've only got the three tubes for two barrels, fire improved first, then modified.

Now, if you're going out for practice for the fall's hunt, shoot whatever you'd shoot in the field and try to get the clays to fly like your quarry. Shooting "away" shots all afternoon with an improved cylinder does little for improving your hits on incoming geese...
