Traser Glowrings

I was looking for these on Ebay tonight, and noticed that all of the listings are in Great British POUNDS -- no domestic U.S. listings.

I remember reading that they are supposedly not legal or something in the U.S., but hey, I've heard that sort of thing before. Supposedly, it's illegal to drive barefoot but it turns out that is completely false. Anyway, I went to the U.S. Customs website, entered "glow ring," "glowring," and "traser" in a search and it came up with nothing.

So my question:

If one were to win an Ebay auction for these things and the seller were willing to ship to the U.S., is there any actual prohibition (as asinine as we all know that would be, since the things are harmless and we also have legal tritium in our gun sights, etc.) on receiving glowrings in the U.S.?

It would be appreciated if any replies come with substantiation (i.e. a link to a gov't website would be a good start).

Tritium is restricted in the US. No one has any interest in busting people who import a dozen glow rings, but if you import millions you will get in trouble. The rationale is if there were no restrictions tritium vials would be everywhere, every one of 250,000,000 people would have a dozen tritium vials each, a lot of the vials would break and release the tritium every year, and that would add up to a significant amount of radioactivity. There might possibly be some truth in that reasoning, or it might be a rationalization for excluding something that doesn't happen to be manufactured in the US.... Whatever the real motivation may be, the US government has chosen to allow importation of tritium only for purposes they choose to consider practical and important and not to allow it for purposes they consider frivolous -- not by the million.

So... I shouldn't worry about some problem if I buy one or two of them on Ebay?

No jackbooted thugs coming in the night? No hangups with my stuff being confiscated at customs?

I have bought a few off ebay with no problems.
Tritium is made in the US,Watts Barr nuke plant has been granted permission the make it.The thing the US has Is that it must be used in something that is a tool.A watch,flashlight and night sights fall under this but they concider a keyring a novalty item and so they do not allow import.You will be fine though as long as you don't have a case of them sent to you.
I have also heard that the US is worried about terrorist being able to buy it cheap if you can concider buying a few thousand glowrings cheap.Thats how many it would take to get a useable amount.It is used in atom bombs to up the yield.
