Greetings All.

Okay, haven’t posted in a while so I’ll jump in exposing my ignorance right off the bat… :eek:

Been wanting me a Schrade hauling pickup ever since I seen pics of one dancing with a bayonet on a coffee table and another swapping paint with Skippy!!! :)

A “Real Deal” or Plant Closure Trash?

Now remember, I’m in Central Alabama, and these bunch of rednecks down here hold their “pick’m’up” trucks (real and otherwise) near and dear - meaning - I don’t know when, if ever, I will/would ever get a chance at acquiring a “cherry” Schrade truck - or if I could afford it even if I did..

Danny, first off, the truck was made by neither Ford, nor Schrade. Smoky had the trucks made by....um...Ertyl?...and the packaging made. They do the same with Case and other brand knives, adding appropriate packaging and decals to the trucks. Not news, really, as many customers provided their own packaging for knives custom made by Schrade and shipped in bulk for promotional items. DU, U.S. Tobacco are just two others that come to mind immediately.

I know the seller and he is straight. Jim will not lie to you, and if he says it is a correct period item (Fall '03-Summer '04) then you can believe him. They do make neat collectables, and I know several collectors here have at least one, and at least one who has a fleet! As far as I know, no one is repro'ing this packaged assemby, so if you want it, go for it. He is offering a certificate with it, but I'd put my money on Jim over a six foot stack of certificates.

Thanks Codger, you're a gem... Just the info I wanted/needed to know.

Now just got to make up my mind if I want to put that much in it...

Oh well.... Can't take it with me and maybe it'll do well in the estate sale !!!
