Now that 1095 was determined not to meet Bussekin standards and the Trash 1 has been upgraded to SR101.......what sets these two blades apart?
Trash1 with Res C
BGASH1 with canvas micarta or upgrade option to G10

What else? I've had both on order and once the Trash1 moved to SR101 at the 1095 price (72 hour window) I altered my Desire for MO' TRASH ;)

I was thinking the same thing this morning....virtually the same knife with different handles....can't wait to play with them both.

The correct answer is "many of both" ... ;) ;) But they are both ASHlike so of course I will say that !!! ;)

I love the RES-C handles. For me, the weight and balance will be different because of the handles and the tang. The grip will be different.. My Trashes won't look like a big mud puddle like my muddy tan BG ASH1, because I have no choice. Sometimes no color choice is a good thing, hahah. The BG ASH1 feels rigid compared to my RES-C 711, SOD's, Regulators, etc... the ASH with the SR-101 tang and guards exposed everywhere - they are different. Which one you like better would depend on your taste. Same blade shape, yeah, but the TRASH is all SYKCO. IMHO :)

Yeah only thing I noticed different was the choil shape and the size of the choil, but it could be the angle of the picture.
Also the you can only get them johnny cash color.

The choil isn't all that different from the 711 or 911...I might not be crazy about it; but I'm used to it.

Looks to me like the cutting edge length on the TRASH will be noticeably shorter than the various ASH variants, perhaps around 5".

TRASH 1 wins for me here, less mass in the handle equals a far more lively & nimble handling blade with less hand shock in heavy chopping.

I don't know that I find any of my larger SYCO knives (6">) particularly more lively or nimble than similar sized Busses or Swamp Rats, but I'm with you all the way on the hand shock difference.
