I just saw Bill, Yangdu, and Kami Sherpa off on their Narita flight.

Bill must fit a terrorist profile. We had to go outside the secure area and back in again to get to the departure gate. Bill set off all the alarms. He had stuff in every pocket, on every limb, and some stuff he had to unbutton his shirt to get to. The pretty young security guard did a thorough search. I think she may have been sexually harassing Bill. It is a good thing Yangdu was there to keep things from getting out of hand.

Kami Sherpa was a delight to talk to. His English is much better than I expected. He says he is planning to return to the US in a few months, so we may get the pleasure of his company again.

Pala's English is one heck of a lot better than our Nepalese

Seriously, the only times we had trouble was when discussing technical concepts. His general English isn't bad at all.

The first leg from Reno was on an Alaska Airlines MD-80. They're on a Northwest 747 over the Pacific now.

I am an expert at setting off alarm systems and did so all the way to Nepal -- Narita, Don Maung in Bangkok but not in Nepal. I hae a special story about Nepal but I cannot post it until I return. Stay tuned!

The good news for Howard is Kami Sherpa was much impressed with the effort Howard set forth to meet us and a special gift for Howard is in the works which I am sure will set off all the alarm systems on the return trip.

Many thanks, Howard, for the great joy you gave us in our meeting.

Stay well, all, and great blesssings from Nepal!
