Travel warning for Uncle Bill

The U.S. State Department has issued alerts about potential travel dangers in Nepal. Specifically, the department has warned about terrorist attacks.

I hadn't thought about that until you mentioned it, Rusty, but there is something a little odd about the timing of all this. Things are Ok in Nepal, then Uncle Bill goes over and all hell breaks loose. Makes a fella wonder about what our mild-mannered Uncle is really up to over there.

Can't remember if you had joined the forum the first time I met Uncle Bill, but I afterwards described him as combining the pleasant attitude of Bill Jordan ( No Second Place Winner ) with the looks of Charlie Askins ( Unrepentant Sinner ). I just attributed the faint odor of sulfur to his navy cussin' days.

Now I'm not so sure that if someone threatened his loved ones, he wouldn't decide that he was willing to go so long as he took a big enough honor guard with him. Now how's that saying go about old age and treachery overcoming skill and youth?

As a matter of fact, Uncle Bill and brother-in-law, Nabin, were stopped and briefly questioned by Nepali police on our way home last night.

The Maoists are alive and well here but and are, indeed, terrorizing the countryside but I am keeping a watchful eye and have the advantage of knowing the territory. Don't worry. They will have a hard time catching up with Uncle Bill.

I think the reason the warning was issued was due to the killing of the five policemen I mentioned a couple of days ago.
