I'm traveling to San Antonio, TX at the end of next month, and I looked up the knife laws there in the forum, but I'm also going to be traveling to Austin and Houston/Galveston, and couldn't find any info other than state regulations. I'm planning on bringing my izula to carry in SA, but just wondered about the laws in Austin and Houston are from those folks that live there, as I'd like to bring a folder. Thanks in advance for y'all's input. Oh and I will be in Tejas for 7 days, so I'm checking a bag. I know TX state law prohibits folders bigger than 5.5 in, but I don't have a knife that big anyway. What size folder(s) should I bring?

Thank you. So it seems Austin does not have a separate knife law other than the state law. cool. Thanks for the info.

In Houston and Austin you should be fine with any folder. Every time I go to San Antonio I try to take a 3 inch blade, but I don't know the law. I've never been stopped or been asked to show my knife by a cop. If you stay out of trouble you should be fine.

Well I do plan on robbing a bank, so I don't want to get into more trouble having an illegal knife.

I've done a TON of traveling through over 32 states. I typically carry a 3"-3.5" folder and a small Al Mar. If I'm in an area that doesn't like the bigger blade, I keep it in my pocket and only pull out the tiny Al Mar. But I've always got the bigger blade with me.
