I am going to be traveling to Montreal via Amtrak. Just wondering if someone knows what the real rules are for bringing a knife on the train, as well as into Canada (and back into the US).
I can't really get a concrete idea from ANY of the rules and regulations I've read thus far.
Canadian knife laws are notoriously vague and self-recursive. Under the definition of "prohibited weapons" there are the usual suspects (gravity knives, automatics, large knives, and firearms) plus "any other prohibited weapons". What the hell?
I am wondering if it would be better to just go without for a few days...
P.S. I normally carry either a spyderco tenacious or a kershaw skyline deep in a pocket, to comply with NYC laws.
