I am taking a trip to Saint Lucia this fall and can't seem to find a definitive answer on whether I can bring my knife with me. Obviously I would be checking it in my baggage, but I was wondering If I can even carry it in the country, or if there is a blade length requirement. Any help is appreciated.

You may wish to go online and check Saint Lucia's website, specifically its customs regulations. Usually, a SAK or small multi-tool will be OK to bring with you, but for added peace of mind, do your research first.

This was on their web site "Restricted Imports

What would be considered a flick knife? and Auto-assist opener? I was planing on bringing my benchmade griptilian.

tighten the pivot and if they check it through customs it wont be a "flick" knife lol

I have lived in St.Lucia and I doubt you will have any problems. It is very formal there so just say "good morning" or "good afternoon" to any local you talk to in customs or at the airport, that sort of thing goes a long way there. They are strict but will often look the other way if you talk to them in the "correct" manner, lol. (no bribes just be extra polite)

Lol you could walk around with a 24" machete once you are there and no one would even look twice.

Have fun, it is a really awesome island.

Lol I walked into St.Vincent customs with a 6 pack (I was drinking one of them) and realized I should offer the customs guys a beer. I did and they just laughed and showed me the beers they were already drinking at the moment! It was too funny.
