Instead of a week in the outdoors, suppose you were traveling in the 3rd world for a couple of months. Survival isn't so much an issue--if you are really in trouble you can get home--but suppose that there's no decent hardware or drug store for 100 miles. Or it would take all day to find one, and they'd be closed anyway and your companions would be mad at you.

We have a pretty good idea of what tools we might take: decent folder, multi-tool, duct tape, lighter, LED lights. There's a lot you can rig up with that.

But I don't know of a substitue for a decent chemistry kit.

For glue, would you want epoxy or acrylate ester? What form and what brand? How come?
Loc-tite is pretty useful too, maybe it could be used for other things (or maybe stronger stuff could be diluted!)

How about a solvent? Acetone? Paint thinner? Rubbing alcohol?

General-purpose lubricant -- oil? Silicone? Wax? WD-40?

How about detergents? Bleach? Ammonia?

If you tear your jacket, do you want a sewing kit, or some kind of "instant patch" for a temporary fix?

Which things could be carried as a powder (=less weight and space) to mix with water?

Let's have some more suggestions, then figure out how to get the most use out of the least things.

Hi
Alcohol you can cook with it if you need it,
to cool blisters and red spots (soar areas)

Bleach to purifir water, dont mix with amonia

Wax to water proof

I like the patches

I carry crazy glue. I have glue some cut on my self and others and it work, a doctor showme that.(they use it before in eye surguries). You can put it on lock(cars and homes for special porpuses)

Cool aid its being around for a long time but you can go with new stuff i guess

just a few

Omar
P.S. sorry for my spelling

I like duct tape, because not only will it patch clothing, and be a temparory bandaid, it can also tempariry patch tires.

Search back to about the summer (2000) here, and you would find out what happened to me, and a few other storys too.

An outstanding addition to this list would be a repair pack by west Systems they make a $20 and a $12 The epoxy resin is in pre measured foil packs, they have brushes, sticks,a glove, syringe and two different density fillers and clean wipes. One other product that deseves mention is synthoglass Its a pre resin soakedpacket of fiberglass (gloves included) just open the package soak in water and use This stuff will work under water!!
