TRC apocalyptic finish

Hi all,

I ordered 2 Southpoles one in satin and one in apocalyptic finish.

I’m erring towards the apocalyptic finish as it’s a bit of a TRC feature but want to know how does the finish hold up to usage?

Any users out there? Pics would be really useful to see how it wears.

The finish doesn’t hold up at all.
I have a TRC South Pole in apocalyptic finish. There are scuffs on a blade, after I once just stuck the knife in the tree.

The black DLC finish that Spyderco uses is the toughest I've used so far.

I heard that the tungsten carbide coating on Fallkniven F1xb/S1xb/A1xb is very good.
With a hardness of HRC 83 it will be difficult to wear it out.

Yes, it's tough. I have several. It will scratch.

Interesting. I am not familiar with that coating. I will assume eventually it will wear/scratch though.

I typically like a good DLC coating the best. Durable enough and looks good.

There is a good test video on YouTube on the "Cedric & Ada" channel. He test the Fallkniven S1x vs the Mora Garberg vs the Cold Steel SRK.
No damage at all on the Fallkniven's coating.

Technically it isn’t a coating, I guess.
