Hello Everyone,
Treasures form the Sea, The Five Pearls included in this group shot are the following: 11" 5mm (blade and spring thickness) Stiletto Abalone Pearl 2010, 10" 3.5mm (blade and spring thickness) Fish Pattern Switchblade Mother of Pearl 2011, 10" 3.5mm (blade and spring thickness) Frosolone Reproduction Stiletto MOP 2010, 9" 5mm (blade and spring thickness) Stiletto Abalone Pearl 2010, 9" 3.5mm (blade and spring thickness) AGA Stiletto MOP 2011.
I find the depth of color in the Abalone fantastic. Abalone is a very busy pattern and I think there can be a conflict with the Abalone and I don't believe it works well with all knives such as Damascus Steel or knives with very ornate file work. On a standard style switchblade I think it looks awesome. Mother of Pearl is in my opinion can appear to be plain, but take a deeper look and it reveals itself to be very rich in color. The MOP captures sunlight and transforms it into a specturm of wonderful hues. Abalone and Mother of Pearl have an elegant and delicate appearance a type of scale material that typically would not be found on a working knife, although it could, but more often found on a showcase piece.
Thank you for taking the time to take a look at my Five Pearls. Please feel free to ask a question or comment or not. I posted these photos for your viewing pleasure. I hope you enjoy the photos.
Thanks again,
John
