A few weeks ago I mentioned in a thread that I did not own any Sheffield made knives. So yesterday I received a package from Jack Black with two Sheffield Pen Knives, a English Penny and a most interesting post card. I really like both knives but the metal knife just jumped out at me. It has two rings on opposite sides and ends and Jack explained to me it is a ring opening knife that I had never seen before. By turning the rings the blades deploy, how cool is that. The penny was an added bonus for me as I also collect coins. The Postcard Shows a photo of a Year knife made in 1822 by Joseph Rodgers and Sons Sheffield. The card states it has 1822 blades and all of them open. Not exactly your average EDC. Anyway thank you so much Jack your kindness and generosity it is greatly appreciated. You sir are a superb example of why this place is so special.

Nice.
I wonder if that 1822 knife still exists ... and with 1,822 blades, how many were duplicates ... or triplicates ...

Thanks guys! :o :D Such a great bunch of people here :)

Randy very kindly sent me a Japanese Hobo Knife a few weeks ago, to be featured in my next kitchen table thread! :D

It now has 2000 blades. Myself and the good Mr Campbellclanman had our photos taken with it :) I think the postcards were printed in the 60's! :D
