Does one use a leather treatment like beeswax or silicone on a leather handle knife like a Blackjack 125 or other leather washer handle? I would not like a silppery handle myself.

I just made a knife with a stacked leather handle. the first time through I used SNO-SEAL and while it worked, problems with the epoxy led me to refinish the handle. The second time I rubbed in KIWI Mink oil several times, let it set for a couple of hours the last time, wiped it off, and finished with a couple of coats of KIWI neutral shoe wax. I did light sanding with 400 grit wet/dry sand paper between coats of mink oil.

Nice! :D

Snowseal works well on my Marbles' stacked leather handles, as well as leather sheathes and other gear (belts, boots, etc.).

Here is one I just finished making and I used CA glue to finish it. When sanding, once the little fibers start to get fuzzy looking coat it with CA, sand and repeat. Finish up with no scratch compound on a loose cotton buff or 1500# up to 2500# paper.

What I usually do is just put some leather creme on it, but some knives need a bit more.
My ON Pilot's Knife had uneven stain on the handle, and was also coated in lacquer.

I had to sand it to get it to stain. I used the liquid type of boot polish.

Once that soaked in I sanded again with a finer paper to remove the fluff and gave it some more stain.

After it dried, I buffed it on a felt wheel. I know Ka-Bar uses Brown Tripoli, and I did the same.

I finished with some neutral leather creme. Comes in the form of a tube, and leaves the leather nice and supple, but still polished like wood.

There is a good tutorial about stacked leather handles over on British Blades with some different care and finish methods as well. I like the CA finish bcause its a little harder and stands up to a littl more abuse, I think. The other products work well also.
